I recently booked a round-trip flight from Chicago to Kansas City on Spirit Airlines via orbitz.com because of how low their fares were but I just realized why–I have to pay to carry on my book bag AND I have to pay to carry on my carry on too–to the tune of an additional $130!!!!!  All I can say is that $130 sure does make that $203.18 flight look a lot more expensive.

DO NOT Fall For Spirit Airlines Low Prices

All I can say is wow:

$130 for a book bag and a carry on!!!!

Below is the size chart–the one personal item included is a purse.  There’s no way my book bag with my 17″ MacBook will fly free.

I called Orbitz after paying to have my book bag fly with me but they only directed me to the “Additional baggage fees may apply” link on the summary on the sidebar while you are booking:
