Step 2: Press and release the ODO/Trip button over and over until you see ODO and the mileage of your van.

If it already says ODO then you can skip to the next step.  It is located below and in-between the tachometer and speedometer on the dash:

  • Great write up, John. I’ll be using this one within the next couple thousand miles on my Sienna.

Question for you: Do you know what triggers the light to come on? Does it simply come on every 5K miles, or is there an actual sensor that is monitoring the condition of the oil, as some cars have?

    • Well, if it could tell whether the oil was bad it would reset itself once you changed it and we wouldn’t need to reset it manually 🙂 I’m nearly positive it just counts 5,000 miles from the last time it was reset. In the official Toyota Sienna Maintenance Manual it has a footnote at the bottom of every 5,000 mile service and states “Reset the oil replacement reminder (“MAINT REQD”) light after replacing engine oil, if vehicle is equipped with this light.” I hope this helps.
